Motor won't tilt down

I have a 1994 Lund Pro V 1700 with a 94 mercury 90hp motor. This morning when I took the boat out, it would not tilt down when I used the button on the shifter. It will tilt up with the button on the shifter, but not down. It will tilt up and down when I use the button on the motor. Any ideas what the problem could be? The shifter is a "Quicksilver 3000" I believe. Thanks much!!

Sounds like the down switch is bad, or else a wire's come loose between the switch and the relay.
