Hi all,

I have a 2003, 50hp electric start, 2 stoke OB. Everything ran fine last week, then I decided to move my throttle control. The control is a Commander 3000 with trim/tilt and kill switch.

I followed the instructions on removing the throttle arm, by depressing the throttle only button and advancing the throttle to forward, pulling out the button then removing the nut.

While reassembling, I inadvertently moving the throttle control back to the straight up position, I reinstalled the arm in the straight up position. I put the muffs on and tried to fire her up, with no results. The battery is brand new with 12.8 v.

Sorry, I dont know a great deal about the electrical and motor on the boat, this is my first boat and I'm learning as I go.

Could I have reassembled the throttle with the motor in gear, and thats why its not starting? When I turn the key, I dont get anything, the lights and bilge pump still work.

Thanks for any and all help,

Jeff

I would suspect you assembled it wrong and the neutral safety switch isn't being engaged.
