Hey Guys -

When I travel, i use a transom saver...and I put a lot of miles on my trailer..but i can't seem to keep my motor from flopping either to the right or left side. It only goes from straight to either the right or left and that is how it stays till i hit the ramp.

I have a 1600 lund w/ a F75 yammy. Any suggestions or don't worry about it.

Thanks!

Bungee it to one side or strap it. That will stop the flopping. I usually turn mine so the steering shaft is completely closed.

Bob

It doesn't flop back and forth, it just goes from being straight to turing to the right/left side.

Its a larger motor, so theres a lot of momentum when it starts to move...so maybe there isn't anything that I can do.

I just think its looks cool to see a boat go down the road, boat on straight, trailer level, and the motor straight.

Bungee the steering wheel to the throttle lever in the position you want it to stay in.

Re: Motor turning when traveling w/ transom saver

I made a link from 1"x12" aluminum flat stock that runs from one of the motor mount bolts (nut side is on inside of transom)w/nut to a spare hole where the steering arm attaches to the motor with nut/bolt. This holds the motor straight and no twisting in the transom saver. Takes only a minute to attach and detach because the nuts and bolts are only finger tight. The link is bent in two places and twisted in order to hook up right so it looks funny, but works well.
