I have a 2002 m115a2 and swapped it with a m140a a older motor, I kept same controls because I thought it would be plug and play, the 140 when hooked up to hose seems to be in limp mode only getting to 2800rpms then starting beeping, I read somewhere it may because controls aren’t compatible but there is a bypass, the 140 had 2 plugins but the 115 it only had one that was needed.. Any suggestions?

Full wiring details are in the Factory service manual. If there are no warning lamps, the motort thinks the motor is not pumping water. If the lower oil level lamp is ON, there is low oil in the reservoir. See p. 61 of the owner's manual at Tohatsu.com.
