I am looking at buying one of two boats, 1979 Tahiti Emperor, 350 mag, 25'; or; 1978 SleekCraft Ambassador, 26' 350; Can I anticipate a relatively easy process to put in a 454 chev, or will this be a major headache. I'm ok turning wrenches and can make most any small block chevy run pretty well.

thank you for your assistance. New to the boating world.

shane

No problem if you don't mind replacing about everything that bolts to the 350. Not many parts that you can interchange but if you have the bank anything is possible.

Its a fairly easy swap. How about the outdrive? You may have to change the gear ratio, if not the complete unit, to avoid damage.

You may consider getting a complete package also. Many times the complete package (motor, intermediate and outdrive) is not that much more than a motor.

Good luck!
