Hey guys its me again.I got my new fuel pump today.I put it on and took the boat down to the pond.I went to take off and i had the throttle wide open and it would just puttt along like it was not open at all.Im not seeing any air bubbles coming from the fuel pump to the carb.Guys i have no clue what is going on.I would appreciate it if yall could help we out here..thanks

back to the drawing board eh?<br />few questions:<br />using good/new fuel? (water in fuel)<br />are you sure you have the right gasket on the pump? (have made this mistake)<br />does the primer bulb stay firm? (losing prime)<br />when you squeeze bulb, see any gas leaking from<br />front of carb? (stuck needle causing flooding)<br />have good strong spark? (easy to see at night)<br />keep at it, we'll figure it out

yea i checked all that already and it is new gas.i just put new spark plugs in to.im not seeing many air bubbles and the bulp is stayin firm.<br />i havnt a clue what it is.Im thinking about just taking it to someone and letting them figure it out instaed of me putting money into it and that not even being the problem.

hello<br /> I have no clue what motor ya have. how much technical training do you have? can you post the year and #of cyl and horsepower? we have eliminated the fuel pump anyway.<br /> post with more info but if your skills are limited and your troubleshooting equipment is limited it may be better to take it in. I would suggest start with a compression test. then or at the same time a spark test. if ya got fuel intake vacum(suck) compression, (squeeze) ignition at the proper time(bang) and an unrestricted exhaust(blow) it will run at its peak. take anyone away or degrade it and it just dont do right.<br /> good luck and keep posting

check the carb for water. but I have seen many of these motors that the high speed charge coil failed and the motor only run about 1800 to 2000 rpm. they also had some reed breakage problems but try to eliminate the stator. what kind of test equipment do you have?

I'd suggest making sure the throttle linkage is working. Make sure the butterflies are actially opening and that the distributer (IF Applicable) is turning as you advance the throttle.<br /><br />Just my $.02<br /><br />Craig

if it were me, I'd pull off the carb again and<br />make sure it's not blocked up and that the needle<br />and seat and float are working properly.<br />did you buy a new carb kit with new parts or just<br />clean it? don't throw parts at the problem until<br />you know exactly what it is...

Hey guys.Yesterday i changed my spark plugs from champions to nks.It cranked up on the first pull and now it runs brand new.Also i changed all the fuel lines.It takes off like a rocked from the hole,it jumps out of the water.Thanks for all your help.I appreciate it.

I got mine at napa.2 for $5 they are a little more money but they make a big difference.
