Motor Guide

Have a 12-24 v motorguide, boat is 2000, assume trolling motor is the same. If you turn it on, it runs continuous,even though it doesn't have that option. Got it stuck in some grass, had to hit the reset button at the battery, now it runs all the time if I turn it on. Switch problem?

Check the controller again. There should be a MOM-CONT run switch and if there is, it is set to CONT (continuous). If there really isn't a MOM-CONT switch, then the button you step on to make the motor start/stop is stuck closed. Check for debris or replace the switch if it's bad..

I have somewhat of the same problem. However, mine works fine until if move the speed up to 5. Then is does not shut off. I have to hit the switch to get it to turn off. The problem seems to have moved to some of the other speeds now. Could this be the start/stop swith or perhaps something more serious?

had to replace switch, it was stuck "on"
