motor guide 82lb thrust 24 volt trolling motor problems HELP

I have a motor guide sw82 hb trolling motor. I was using it this week end. The trolling motor speed control stopped working. the only way to turn in off was to cut the toggle switch off. It would only work on high speed. The forward and reverse both worked but the speed control would not. Any idea what may be wrong with it. Thanks

Yep. fixed A LOT of them with the same problem. The speed board in the head and the mosfet in the foot will need to be replaced. It was a crap design 20 years ago and it still is. One year we had three upgrades. When they were bought out I lost my ability to get paid for warranty work or buy parts so I dropped them.
