I am a young boater and recently purchased an '86 75 hp merc. You all were very helpful in getting it running. Thanks so much for all the ideas. Currently the motor idles well, and runs great at WOT, but I have to accellerate very, very slowly or it dies. It often dies just as I put it in gear. I have been told that the carbs are set too lean and that I should adjust the idle screws. Does this sound accurate? Is there anything else likely causing this? Thanks in advance!

SET THE ILDE SCREW JUST A LITTLE MORE OUT.
SET THE IDLE SPEED UP.
CHECK TO MAKE SURE THE TIMING SCREWS ARE
TIGHT. IF NOT THAT PLEASE WRITE BACK.
GOOD LUCK REX

Thanks for the response Rex. Where do I find the timing screws?
