I have my motor about 2" out of water while sitting still lowered the jack plate down about as far as I can to get it to plane out faster. It helped but worried it is to low? Its on a stratos 21 ft bass boat running a 25 pitch prop and still is running 4500 @ wot. Any suggestions? Maybe raise motor some and get around a 23 pitch back there?

Please read the stickies at the top pof the page.
What motor are you running? year,hp,brand? What is the max rpm and speed.
Usually reccomended to raise the motor to assist hole shot.
Do you have a problem with ventilation(cavitation)?

1993 johnson 150 fast strike, max rpm has been 4500 top speed 50mph per gps , I was told to raise motor and I did hole shot got worse and rpm's stayed about the same. its on a 1993 stratos 201 probably about 3500 loaded is a 14" 4 blade ss prop, the pitch is 25.

You need to be in the 5800-6000 range with that motor. A 25" 4 blade seems a little optomistic on that boat......

maybe I measured it wrong it was 14" straight across the center from end to end is that correct? the only numbers on the prop is 25 pitch.
