motor bogs then stalls

hello all. new to the forums. and had a couple questions. i have a 1979 checkmate with a 1979 200 hp mercury outboard engine. perhaps you can awnswer a few questions
A. i have 120 psi of compression across the board is this fine?

just bought the boat... it needed a stator. so i installer per the manuals instructions. and took the boat out..

boat ran fine for about a min of full throttle. then started bogging down. and would eventually stall. once i got it started back up. usually 45 seconds to a min later.. since it would have diffuculty starting almost like its flooded it would fire back up and would be fine again for a couple about another min of full throttle then it would happen again. but if i were to cruise at about half throttle it would be ok..

please help.. whats goin on. i have a feeling its a fuel issue.. since the stator is new.. and im getting spark. to all cylinders.
i am running 50:1 ratio in the fuel and its yahamas half synthetic formula

is there anything im doin wrong?

First, make sure the fuel tank is vented properly. The engine can't suck fuel out the tank if there is not way for air to get in. Next, when the engine begins to die, squeeze the primer bulb a couple times. If the engine picks up you have a fuel delivery problem and it's very likely the fuel pump.

ok today tried venting it... didnt work. checked the fuel bulb when it started to loose power... it was still firm.. all i would have to do is throttle down to about half throttle then when i got back on it it would be good for about another ten seconds. and it would bog again. spark is all there.. and tank was vented. compression is 120 across the board. spark plugs new..

im stumped i really dont wanna sell this boat..

picked up another checkmate enchanter with a 93 200 hp blackmax. for 3000. it runs like a top.but the plate where the motor mounts to as a swivel plate.. is bent and it rubs on the guids for the trim. almost like the guy hit something hard
