i was just wondering everything i could do for more speed i have a 20 foot 2007 sea hunt it weighs 1900 pounds with a 150 HP 2001 johnson 2 stroke outboard ocean pro. aluminum prop 15x17 and running 5100 rpm at wot (45 mph) under normal load any help on how to get more top speed? thanks.i know the motor it self looks like it should be raised a hole or 2 it looks a little low.thanks.

AV plate should be 1 to 1 1/2 above the keel and horizonal to the keel. some go 2 " but watch the water flow. that high and i would want a water pressure guage.

Might be a little speed in getting it properly propped. You want the revs to be peaking just on the far side of 5500. 5100 is too low, so you'll want to drop a little in prop pitch...

anymore sujestions?i know holley offers a nice outboard Nitrous Oxide Systems.which will give 40% more H.P. for a few secs

Oooh--If you have it, post the websit for the nitrous system. Been wanting to put one on an o/b for a while.

i just wanted to do all the fine tunning to get evey mph out of my outboard before adding nos.any more suggestions.thanks
