after 33 years of outstanding perforance i am in the process of overhauling 69 rude 55 hp. the cylinders are very close to maximum tolerance. if its rebored .020 will there be a noticeable gain in power? new pistons and rings are about $350 plus $70 to bore and hone. while i have it broke down it seems the best thing to do.
thanks for any info
russell

In my experance will you have a noticeable gain in power, no going .020 will not give you a seat of you pants power increase but it will refinsh the cylinders and hopefully give you 33 more years on your rude.

Normal wear, over the years of service you got out of this motor, will diminish the power output.
The power increase will be noticeable because you restored the motor, but it has nothing to do with the overbore.
