Installed over the week end but have not water tested yet. Just wondering if i will see a higher rpm at WOT or lower cruise rpm while traveling same speed? Spark before new stator was weak at best, now its HOT. Just was wondering what to expect. Motor sure idles and starts better in the driveway on the hose.

Everything will be better, slow speed, high speed, motor will react faster, burn cleaner, start easier and it should blow yer hat off out there!

But wont make any difference to the rpm at the same speed.

I guess thats correct with the fixed gear ratio. But, If my WOT rpm goes up I can go back to the 17 in prop that was on the boat when I got it(presently I have a 15 in on it) to bring rpm into good range and thus maybe increase cruis speed. I'll update after seatrial. Rpms at WOT were about 5500-5600 with 15" and old stator. Hoping for 5800-6000 with new stator which would allow me to go with 17" prop to bring rpm back down to optimum WOT range.

Water test results: Finally got in the water and boat idled great and ran good. Noticed smoother running overall. gained about 100 rpm WOT, not enough to go back to 17" prop, oh well. One problem, when I first backed trailer in water and got on boat to start she cranked but I had no spark! Checked all connections and decided to pull it home and recheck everything. I retested new stator first and had only 15 volts DVA with it connected. Un did two browns to power pack and retested. got 209 volts. though maybe PP was bad. Swapped out with old PP and got 190 connected. Put other PP back on and got same 190 connected. The only thing I can think of is one ground wire was pinched under PP hold down screw the first time and I had a bad ground connection. I fired up on hose and she ran great and I jiggled all connections and the wiring harness to see if anything else would cause my problem, but found nothing. Water tested fine. Even fished and shut down and restarted many times with no problem. Hope I just had that bad ground and all is well.
