More on Taxes.

Today, I was reading the newspaper at lunch time. There were no less than 4 tax increases or proposals on the first two pages alone.

This comes after a raft of new or increased taxes after the Democrats took power in the last election. (WA State)

They just keep taking more and more. There is apparently no stopping them. The rank and file democrat voters, that put them in office, just keep snoozing away while their pocket books are being systematically emptied. Actually, they are not snoozing, the are working their behinds off, ignoring their children, trying to keep up with it all.

What is the matter with people? State revenues have climbed in recent times, way beyond the cost of living or new population, but they just keep on jacking it up.

Cause the only one telling this Dem voting pool that their party is historically based on pulling a vacuum on the tax base is Rep hopefuls. You know, the ones that they are suppose to detest and not trust.Seems many are so blinded by the campaign hogwash that they don't realize where the funding for all of these "feel good" programs comes from.

Re: More on Taxes.

When did the Democrats take power?
Wouldn't one have to lose power in order to take or regain power?
This state has been Democrat for a long time....
Which taxes were you referring to specifically?
I'm curious.......
Did you hear about.....
Never mind!......:)

Re: More on Taxes.

Sales tax up (again) 2/10ths for County Mental Health Programs. They keep this up and I will be a taker for this one!

State Senate passed a bill to allow cities to jack your auto license fee up by ANOTHER $20. How long do you think it will take them to do that, once it passes in the House? A nano-second?

One of the houses passed a resolution to do away with the supermajority to raise property tax levies for EDUUUUUUUUCATION for the CHIRDREN.

...and here comes the biggie. State Senate passes a bill calling for 5 WEEKS OF PAID FAMILY LEAVE to be paid for by a payroll tax. Unmittigated Socialism here folks. Take from the working and give it to the non-working.

Back in 2001 we passed a State Initiative to limit the growth of property taxes to 1% per year. When the home sold, the new tax base would be based on the home's then current assessed value. As a result, property taxes just keep skyrocketing.

The liberal state courts ruled the initiative null and void because the public was not properly educated about the existing law that this new one would supercede.

Greed and power folks. They want it all, including your total loss of individualism. At the rate middle America is snoozing, they will get it in my lifetime. I sometimes lay awake at nite, in fear of what my Children will have to deal with.

Fortunately or not, they were homeschooled and have not sucked up all the liberal tripe that goes on in the Government schools.

#'s 1&2 are somewhat local, however until the last election we had a majority of conservative legislators in the county. Now it's all part of the same syndrome that affects the state as a whole.

What is the issue with the King County Logo?

Also, thanks to Christine Gregoir, I have to drive to Oregon for my 750ml bottle of rot gut Vodka. Oregon charges $13.15. Prior to Queen Christine, Washington charged $16.50 for the same bottle. Now it is $20.50 for the same bottle. It probably costs me about $2.00 in gas to drive over the Interstate. That is a huge return on investment.

The new logo, instead of the 'crown' is the likeness of MLK.....
To honor 'brotherhood' & such.....
I am finally sick of it.....:|

It's a disease Haut. And there is no man made antidote for it. It goes far deeper than a simple logo.

...and the rank and file just keep snoozing!

Ya know Boom, if it were not for the conservative position with regard to birth control (especially that) & a few other things....
I would vote differently......;)
I am sick of our elected officials pandering to minorities & illegal immigrants......
It is a paradox to believe in 'creation' & 'Darwinian Theory' at the same time.....
That is to say, 'Preserve life at all cost', but not to back it up through ,socialist legislation'......
A double edged sword, IMHO.......JK

Unfortunately, it is a big part of the disease that appears to have crossed party lines. That's my whole point.

There is no viable party of refuge today.

Something that you may not want to hear, but I am compelled to print it, and as I believe that HE had a direct hand in the formation of this great nation, I will leave you with this:

"If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn away from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sins and heal their land" 2 Chronicles 7.14

The problem is that there are fewer and fewer Americans who are called by His name. They are too busy worshipping diversity, tolerance and the environment!

...it's like I said then, "It's a disease ~~. And there is no man made antidote for it."

So it is written. The inexorable slide will continue, unabated.

Re: More on Taxes.

In some long untaught,(by government schools) infamous words by the namesake of our State and a founder of this country,

"We ought to be persuaded that the propitious smiles of heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which heaven itself has ordained."

"Mankind, when left to themselves, are unfit for their own government."

This last, my friends, is now being amply demonstrated.

Some of these rules (I figure 7 out of 10) are well based in common sense & are certainly a good guide for all to live by.

Other than that, I'm not so sure.

I am assuming, Boomie, since you choose to shop in Oregon, you of course volunteer to pay Oregon income taxes.
