well i was fishing out of michigan city, in on monday...i was running to 90 ft and about 70 ft the boat slowed and port engine tached out...lost outdrive....got boat home today and checked her out, removed outdrive, and tore into her ('85 omc 3.8L v6, 800 series strringer)...well i managed to break pinion gear shaft on lower about 1 inch below splines....so now i am in search for parts...question is???? what would cause this? lower is not locked up, oil looks ok, prop is ok....just would hate to fix to have it break again...my omc guy is dis-assembling as we speak, so that i can find any and all parts needed for hunk of junk...
