I had a 23' Monterey cuddy for several years & was pretty well satisfied with it...no real issues with the boat as far as quality was concerned. I have never owned a Rinker but have looked at several and would say that the two brands are about equal in terms of fit, finish and overall quality.

Re: MONTEREY BOATS

I put an offer on a 27 Monterey express. It was so clean and 'mint' looking I was going to skip the survey. The fella had stored it indoors throught the winters and so forth. Luckily I changed my mind and got one on the deal's closing day. Both chines were delaminted in spots all the way up both sides, the decks had the same and the transom had some issues too. The surveyer said it was most likely from being pulled out of the mold too early since it was in such good shape otherwise. I like both boats but get a survey either way if it's a used one.

I agree with Relentless on the brands being roughly equivalent. Surprised the Monty 248 isn't priced well under the Rinker 262 though. I would let test drives decide it.

Kelly
