Please help me identify this mystery fiberglass tri-hull? I don?t have a way to upload a pic right this second but I can describe the hull and would appreciate any help. A year supply of thank yous goes to the winner.
I posted the question a couple days ago as I just joined this forum looking for answers to refurbishing an old bass boat but never had any replies, other than someone that suggested using it as a giant flower pot if it was an old boat that used wood under glass as subfloor or in transom?
I bought it a couple days ago when a friend told me about what he thought was an aluminum boat, got a descent price since the trailer was worth it by itself so Bought it anyway. Here?s the problem ? On the hand written bill of sale ? says Monark , but on registration says Monarch. On registration says 15? as advertized by the seller ? but my tape measure says 14?. So unless I have a magically shrinking boat hull ? it?s wrong too.
Are there to different manufactures with Mon Ark vs Monarch? It gets better - on the sign and the seller said verbally it was made in ?79, but the registration doesn?t have a year shown, and on the bill of sale had hand written ?unknown? as year.
The serial number is 64320 if that helps. The Model says Mark I (not sure if it roman number 1, or capital ?I?, but when I Google it ? I get ?No Results? for keywords Monark Mark 1, as it says on the transom tag. I get everything from Noah?s Ark to a contortionist Arching her back ? but no boat.![Confused  ](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
Forgive my lack of natical terminology - but I'll try my best to describe it. It?s completely open from Bow to stern, with a fiberglass storage box on the port side about 12?x 4?. Starboard side had raised fiberglass pedestal mounted about 2? forward of the stern, screw holes for where I assume the controls were mounted directly in front, and then another small storage compartment about 12? x 18?. The deck extends from stern to bow for 8? and steps up about 6? to accommodate bow curvature with another approximately 4? platform with a pedestal mounted in the center for trolling. I know I could have saved a thousand words with a pic ? but appreciate any help you guys could offer to a boating newbie trying to learn by doing my first boat refurbish project.
Any help with specs ? how much weight it can handle, will an old 30 hp Johnson will be enough to push it, how many ppl can I take fishing, limits, what was the original layout, etc.
Although I thought it was solid when I bought it, there are a couple places near the stern that sag and sound like I?m walking on rice crispies ? so it looks like I?ll be doing a lot of searches and reading about replacing the floor. Thanks in advance guys! - TJ
