Hi, I have a 12-13 foot homemade boat which I tow on a roller trailer and I want to put a 17-18 foot homemade boat on ny trailer to get it home. The boat has no motor. Can I extend the tongue and move the bow stop to hold 18 feet? I am not so worried about weight as the boat is super light. Mostly worried about towing, turn etc. Is this possible or just too dangerous?

Can you bolt a couple of 2x6 timbers to the existing frame so they stick out the back and support the hull? I would be wary about extending the tongue as a failure there would be real bad.

Post a pick of what you have. It might be possible to move the winch tower a bit forward to help you out some.

The winch support can be moved up and the "super light boat w/o motor can overhang some at the stern.I would load the boat onto the modified trailer and see how everything sits. Less of an issue if you are not towing far or not highway driving.Pay some attention to the beam.Bigger boat is gonna be wider.Use strap downs on the boat and stern and tow with caution.Charlie
