Re: Volvo Penta

Well worth having by anyone with this drive, that can even do a minimal amount of service. It is 'written' in what I call 'OMC' format, meaning it is straight forward and understandable. With Clymer and seloc selling at $30 to $40,it is a bargain at full price.

Can't say that about older Volvo Manuals.

Re: Volvo Penta

Just to add a little to DHP's info. While the drive manual in the set is the same, and the engine rebuild sections are the same, the Fuel, and Ignition, and electricals changed on the models previous and after. So if you don't have a BY model, don't expect it to be "Close Enough" ------ It won't be.

Can't say that about older Volvo Manuals.

Another note here (my opinion of course), the older manuals DHP mentioned are the red engines before the OMC, VP joint venture. Yes those manuals were lacking info for the DIYer, and don't expect any step by step instructions for troubleshooting either. BUT, the information that Seloc and Clymers uses is all condensed information from the Volvo manuals. So expect a lot less information from the aftermarket manuals.
The Volvo manuals are also cheaper, and for only one particular engine (not all engines used in a 10 or 15 year period)

The way you keep bumping this thread to the top, you must be the one selling it.
