model year help

I would like to know what year this motor is and if there are any specific problems I should look for with it. Model number 0B146913. It looks like it is a 4 cylinder 2 cycle, 50hp. Also, what does oil injected mean ? Thanks for your help, Dave

OIl injected means that oil is automatically mixed with the fuel. There should be a tank which you will poor tcw3 oil into. I can not seem to find your year.

Thats a 'Classic 50" 45hp 4 cylinder motor, circa 1987<br /><br />The oil injection for that motor would be remote mounted, using an autoblend system in the boat.<br /><br />The autoblend systems are not known to be exceptional in terms of reliability. If it were me, I'd disconnect it and pre-mix your own fuel at 50:1. <br /><br />The Mercury 4 cylinder motors are great, and if it has been well maintained it should last many more years. Use good quality oil, make sure it is propped correctly for the application, and stay on top of yearly maintenance and you'll be a happy camper.
