I am getting ready to look at a boat with a Mercury 50HP on it. I suspect that it is a 1979 vintage, but would like to be sure. The seller could only find the serial number (5533911), but he thinks that it is the same vintage as the boat (1979). Can anyone verify that this is a 1979 motor? Anything special I should look for?
The boat is a "Bass Tracker III 16' Aluminum Bass Boat & Trailer - $3500" and he says his bottom dollar is $2800. Boat has 2 covers, a new trolling motor + battery and a fish finder. Any comments on the pricing?
