model number 115 mercury

I just bought a 1976 charger with a 115 mercury engine 6 cyl. I need to find the model number, I found the serial number and some other stuff but nothing clearly saying the model. I also need the rear or aft thrust washer for the prop and have had no luck finding one that I know if I order it I will get the right thing.

Mercury doesn't really use model numbers but letters, a electric start long shaft power trim would be a ELPTO and so on, the thrust washer will depend on the prop number os series of prop on that engine

Best to buy the thrust washer in person at a dealer. Then you can see if it fits OK. All the dealer needs to know is that it's a 115 inline 6, they all had the same lower unit.<br /><br />-W
