What are your thought/comments on using Mobil 1 motor and gear oil in my new 115 4stroke Yamaha. I don't foresee any problems but would appreciate any comments/cautions based on actual experience. thanks...W

Howdy, Arcwinston.

I use Mobil 1 in my Suzi DF70.

I have full confidence that I couln't do better, though I could probably do just as well with much less expensive oil.

I use it even in my salad! No, not really. If you had an old engine with worn out oil rings I would not use it, otherwise is OK to use.Do the break in with regular fossil oil then go to Mobil 1. That way you allow the parts to wear in better then slow down/prevent wear with M-1.

Re: MOBIL 1

Hey, it is the recommended oil for Porsche from the factory. I have it in my 82 Land Cruiser with 215000 miles. In engine, tranny, transfer case and differentials. Burns 1 qt. every 1500 miles. Also in my Kubota tractor, VW TDI, Porsche 914 and 993 and Duramax truck. In fact, I just took the truck in for service and requested it be used on the diffs (4X4) and was told synthetic was used at the factory and no need to change yet at 24000 miles. I do not know what brand synthetic GM is using. Use with confidence, very good performance record. :)
