Mixing Lower unit oil

Can someone commnet on whether it would be unwise or not advisable to mix non-synthetic lower unit oils together? Example Lubrimatic and Penzoil. After refilling the lower unit on an outboard engine I need a bit more to top it off. Seems like all stores in this area do not have regular Lubrimatic oil, just synthetic.

I'd say it's not wise to mix two unlike oils together... Some brands post on the container warnings against mixing with other types. Go with one or the other...<br /><br />MHO<br /><br />Walt
