Re: mixed up carb parts
You should find your answers at the Bombardier factory parts catalog website: epc.brp.com. Evidently the 55 engine came in two flavors that year, the rope start and the elect start models. For some reason the carb jets vary based on those models. The high speed jet goes in the side of the bowls. Those jets are either .056 or .057's. There are two smaller jets which mount on the front face of the carbs. They are idle jets. While unusual, the idle jets vary based on whether the carb is an upper or lower carb. Both of the jets on the face of the carb are 8/32 thread size. (they will interchange, so you need to get the correct ones in the right places.) The jet that goes in the upper hole on the face of the carb is one of 3 sizes: (depending on model again) 324698 is .037, 2323703 is .036 and 318823 is .031. The jets for the lower hole on the face of the carb is also one of 3 sizes: 323151 is .045, 325828 is .043 and 325827 is .044. You may need a magnifying glass to see the stamped numbers on the side of each jet-but it's there.
