mixed fuel in filter

Hi my 140 Johnson #J140tlco is starting to smoke. It runs ok but it is geting worse. The primer ball wont get hard. I checked floats and replaced them. I checked lines and they dont leak but when i looked at fuel filter it look like mixed gas in it.I use the VRO still and i am thinking of starting to premix. any ideas?

may be time to just replace the VRO. they dont last forever. also check the oil tank cap vent. if its plugged it will force oil into the fuel system.

I check the cap and drilled a hole through it and it made no differnce.
