need a bail spring for the reel. it is not the round spring like the old 300's, it is the long spring around 1/8 inch dia x1.00 inch long. can't seem to find anything online. the bail will not completely open when starting to retrieve.
You mean bail won't close all the way when starting to retrieve? Size sounds suspiciously similar to the spring in a retractable ball point pen.... maybe you can MacGuyver it? (but don't MacGruber it!) I'm a big fan of the old 300's, I bought my daughter a new version for her BD a couple years ago, but it's pretty much worn out now. It sure didn't have the longevity of my old '70's version that I still use as a backup.
thanks for the reply. if it is a straight spring, about 1/8 inch in diameter and about 1 inch long it is probably the spring I could use. let me know. it is not the old round spring from the original 300's.
