Hi, we just bought a 16 ft Misty River boat, but we have no info on load capacity or what size outboard it is rated for. The info plate is missing from the inside of the boat. It is 26 yrs old.

That's a tough sell. Took lots of googling. With the lack of internet info, its hard to find anything out about them. Apparently, they went out of business in 2003.

Obviously, a Canadian boat. Best guess is to google the USCG calculations for HP requirements, measure the boat and go from there. Unless, by chance you find someone with the same boat that can read the plate to you.

OTOH, if its a tiller, maybe just stick with a 25 HP and be safe.

Tough Boats. I had a New One in 2000. Just a bare skiff though with a 30hp Zuke Tiller. I wish I would have kept that boat.
