I believe that Misty Harbour use to be called Discovery. The name changed when they moved from Preble, NY (just North of me) to mid-west. I have a friend that has a Discovery 14' Voyager w/25hp Evinrude, which he purchased new. He only had a couple of minor issues, that were promptly handled by the dealer. Up at our lake, there is one dealer that sells 4winns, along with Misty Harbour 'toons and small boats. Consequently, there are many Misty Harbour 'toons, jon boats, and a few small semi-vs. I have not heard any major complaints about them. My impression, is that they are a good value boat. ie allot of features for your money, but not top-of-the-line quality components.

Thanks john_s

They do seem a bit cheaper.

I have found Mirrocraft and Misty Harbours dealers with end-of-season stock (the snowmobiles are coming in...)

I like the Misty Harbour becuase it has more of a vee to it. The Mirrocraft seems better quality.

Hey Jimi, check out Princecraft. They are one of the few boats built in Canada (Quebec) and are made for the colder waters. I was very impressed with the ones coming out west to our area. They ride smooth and handle rough water well. Just a thought ;)

I own a Misty Harbor (my second one). I like it really well. I ordered direct from the factory in Fort Dodge, Iowa since they had no dealers in Kentucky. This allowed me come customization options. I did have to pick it and the trailer up in Fort Dodge, but as I recall, the savings made the trip worthwhile. They also shrink wraped it for the trip.

I owned a 2003 Voyager 16CT. No problems with the boat. I had a 30 hp Yamaha on it and it pushed it around 28 mph. The only reason I sold it was to upgrade to a larger boat for bigger water. There was nothing wrong with it. Good quality and for my needs, it was the best out there. I was not impressed with several with the design of their smaller boats.
I had a Shoreland'r 1200 lb roller trailer which was an upgrade.
It did have a leaky livewell hose which the dealer repaired under warranty.
I paid about $4000 for the boat and trailer only.
I'm open to any questions.
