missing tage

I have a 70 hp evinrude. my sn and model number tag is missing. is there any other way to find out the year.would they be stamped into the casting any where.if they are where at.any help would be great. need to find out the year of this motor. looks like its about a 75/76/77 somewhere around there thanks.

On top of the engine block there should be a Welch plug (looks like a freeze plug). That should have the model and serial nr. stamped on it.<br /><br />c/6<br /><br />Hooty

Thanks hooty 5min later it is a 75 model just what i thought.
