missing parts

hi brandnew to forum i got a johnson 25 hp seahorse given to me but motor is missing tiller handle if its not control model also missing mounting bracket to transom poured a little gas in carb and wanted to start otherwise id toss it dont have serial number or model number just number off cylinder c8171748 any help would be appreciated

if you stand behind your motor on the left hand side of the transom mounting bracket you will find a plate with the model and serial number stamped into it.
Post your findings and someone here will be able to help you.

Basher, If I read his post correctly I think he is missing the transom bracket which would mean the ID plate is also gone. Im not saying anything about your post but his post makes me wander how to identify an engine if the plate is gone or in his case when the entire transom bracket is gone.
