I have a 6 cyl. boat with a inboard, outboard motor,merc-cruiser. The boat has been sitting for 3 years, run a few times a summer.I changed the oil and it looked like milk. After I put it in the water runs great but the oil is going someplace,I don't see it in the water and no smoke so my ? is where is it going and what is the problem and how can I fix this?

Marlboro,<br /> I don't know where you are loosing your oil but, if your original oil was milky you either have a blown head gasket or a leak/hole in your exhaust manifold. You need to check both before running your engine for any period of time. Both are easy to fix. Unfortunately, if you have to replace the exhaust manifold, they are quite expensive. Usually in the $500 price range. If the exhaust elbow is bad, add another $125. Good luck.......

If your oil was just a little milky it could be from condensation which is normal. Is the new oil that you put in turning milky? Oil has to go somewhere if it is leaking(in bulge). Does the exhaust have abnormal amounts of smoke? If it's burning that much oil you could have a major problem. Keep us posted.
