my brother has a mid 80's force 15 hp.It sometimes developes a miss , it does it in all rpm ranges . we changed the points and condensers and it still does it.It dosen't happen all the time. If you pump the bulb fuel will drip out the front of the carb and the throttle cam on the carb is very lose.can air get n the carb through this area ???If the carb has an air leak could this be the culrit
.

rebuild the carb, re-sync and link the motor, and go from there.

Hi GETANET
Sync and link means to syncronize the throtle opening to the ignition advance. the throtle cam is mounted to the timer plate. It should not be loose. Did you loosen it to install points etc? You might have a worn float valve, or just some crud in it. Float may need adjustment. Check fuel line conector make sure o-rings are good. This is where they suck air most often.

we didn't losen the timing plate but there is a space between it and the throttle cam , and the trottle cam is very loose . can this be tightened somehow or does he need a new carb?????

Getanet can you explain what you mean by throtle cam, seems like were talking about differnt things. Are you refering to the throtle shaft? Also if you could give me the mod# it would help. Sorry I am confused.
