misfiring at full throttle

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------<br />I have a 1971 Johnson that misfires at full throttle and at idle sometimes.I have replaced all ignition components except flywheel and coils.<br />could it be the coils?<br />could it possibly be reed valves?<br />PLEASE HELP!!!!! Salmon season is underway without me. <br />--------------------------------------------------------------------------------<br /> :confused:

You didn't say what size engine we are talking about but it sounds exactly like an ignition coil breaking down and arcing. Swap the wires and check your spark. If you can run it in a barrel at night with the cover off you will probably see a blue spark arcing to the block. Just replace that coil and you should be done.
