I'm having a problem getting full power from my trolling motor. It seems that my trolling motor is not putting out the power I know it has. It a Minnkota All Terrain 40. And its on a 17ft Ranger Astech bass boat. I have gone through the whole motor it seems like it not getting enough power or something to move the boat, does anyone have any ideas.

Did it every work properly for you? If it did, I also suspect a bad battery, incorrect battery (should be a deep cycle or dual purpose) not being fully charged, or it may simply be too small for the job. Bad connections and wrong size wire for the distance between the battery and motor as mentioned is also high on the list. The battery can be load tested at any auto parts store.
