MINN KOTA TURBO 512

Dose anyone out there know if a Minn Kota Turbo 512 42 lbs Thrust is a 12 Volt or 24 Volt Trolling motor? Ive serched the intertnet everywhere I can think of and cant find out anything! It sure is sick as a 12 Volt but i want to know for sure before I hook it to 24 Volts!<br /><br />Thanks<br /><br />Hasbeen

Thanks, I did see the web page that you sent and it does appear to be a 12 volt! Sure is a pig, I would think a 42 # motor would have more power than it has! Allthough my last two boats were 15' boats and this one is an 18'! I suppose that this boat takes a little more to move. It just doesnt churn up the water like it should and starts real slow! My other 40+ # motors would almost knock me out of the boat if I happed to have them pointing the wrong way when I stepped on the switch! I have two new 12 volt batteries hooked in series and they are fully charged! Should have plenty of voltage! I dunno???<br /><br />Ive had three other places tell me it is a 12 volt also!<br /><br />Hasbeen

Hasbeen<br /><br />If you read that E-Mail that trollnmotors.com sent me, you will see that it is in fact a 24 Volt Motor. Feel free to contact them about it. They know their motors!

Ive sent other inquiries out and this is the only one that says that it is a 24 volt!! What about the schamatic you sent and I found also that shows it as being hooked to a single battery?? I have to beleive that it is a 24 volt as it is very sick with 12 volts!! I need to see some writen artical or factory spec sheet before I hook it up!! Most 24 volt motors Ive seen have three wires so you can run it as a 12 volt if you want to! 12-24V! Im sure they know there stuff, but anyone can make a mistake!<br /><br />Hasbeen

OK, PROBLEM SOLVED!!! I decided to swing for the cost of a phone call and called Fosters! The motor is in fact a 12 Volt, No doubt about it!! He told me that a 24 volt motor will not even run on 12 Volts unless it is a 12-24 Volt model! Must just be old and the magnets are week!
