Minn Kota Riptide troubleshooting

Hi. I just bought a used boat with a two-year old co-pilot minn kota riptide motor on it. When we took it out for a test drive before i got it, the remote controls worked fine on it. Now, 2 weeks later, the motor doesn't seem to respond to the remote controls. The batteries are fully charged and the motor connections are all alright. It just seems like theres a problem with a link between the remote controls and the motor itself. Anybody have any pointers or know a link to an owners manual for this troubleshooting? Thanks.

Check the plug on the remote where it plugs into the motor and be sure it is snug. Other than that maybe the battery in the hand unit is shot.

Did you get any help? I have the same problem. What did you do to correct the problem?

I too have the same problem with the used Riptide I just bought. It worked fine using the remote then yesterday when I plugged in the motor the unit just kept rotating with no respond to the remote. I unplugged the connector at the bottom and connected the foot control which operated the motor fine. I trolled all day using the foot control. After the day's troll I switched back to remote connector and all it did was rotate the motor  .

UPDATE: I called and spoke to a Minn Kota repair shop who said that it sounds like the autopilot board is the problem.
