Minn Kota Edge 40lb tight mount?

Hello all! Anybody here has a Minn Kota Edge hand control bow mount trolling motor? I love my motor and it works great, only thing I dislike is the mounting latch is very tight when clamped down. Even when moderately tightened down, the shaft of the motor is under a great deal of friction and is very hard to turn, to the point I feel like I will break the control handle. If I don't loosen the mount to the point where the motor is close to falling out of the latch, I can't use it. I've tried spraying the mounting sleeve with teflon, lube, PB Blaster, you name it in order to cut down the friction/tightness. Has anybody experinced this problem?
