I just acquired a 48-volt Minn Kota E-Drive, remanufactured, for my 18’ pontoon (on an electric-only Arizona lake). Minn Kota says I need four 12v 105Ah batteries. The dealer I bought it from insists on it. However, as I shop for batteries, all I can find is 100Ah batteries. Does this small 5Ah difference REALLY matter? I’m having a hard time believing that it does.

Welcome
No the 5Ah is not going to make that much of a difference

You can get much larger ones (Exp 200Ah each)

Assuming these are LiFePO4 type

Could even get one 48V battery, just need a different charger

4.....100 AH Lead / Acid ...or...LIFEPO4 will do perfectly well. A correct charger is needed if you really run the batteries down. LIFEPO4 batteries are the longest lasting type to buy and use. Enjoy
