Minn Kota 765MX Control Board

I purchased a Minn Kota 765MX trolling motor without foot pedal for $13. Upon attaching a foot pedal I found that the control board was not working. The part number for this control board is 230-4001. I am unable to find this part but find others with similar numbers. I have found control boards on eBay with numbers 230-4045, 230-4032, and 230-4043. From the picture all these appear similar to the one I took out. The plug from the board looks very similar but none of the pictures are clear enough that I can not say for sure that is exactly the same. Will any of the boards I listed work for my trolling motor?:

Usually when they discontinue a board its superseded by another newer one but I cant seem to find any info on yours. I would call one of the marine guys listing all of those on ebay and ask them what the new part number is or which to use for a retro fit.

Ok I did alittle more digging. It looks like the differrence is ap and non-ap boards. As long as you get a non-ap board it should work.

"2304043 will substitute. 12 v, Non AP Pre 2001 Power Drives and 765 MXTs can use this part."

"2304045 supercedes 2304043 so it would work also."

One issue I noticed and I want you aware of is a few people who have done the swap say the battery meter doesnt display anymore but other then that it works and got them back on the water.

I have a 1996 12v powerdrive w/autopilot that has a bad control board. Original part #230-4005D changed to 230-4025. I can not find this board anywhere! I have seen the 2000 and newer control boards(230-4043) on e-bay but the wiring looks different and they cannot be returned once purchased. Just wondering if anyone has had success switching over to this board.
