Minn Kota 3hp fwd/rev switch

I am trying to save my old Minn Kota 3hp trolling motor.I believe it's a 1987. Everything works but intermittently and you can move or hold the switch in position to make it go. Can anyone tell me where I can find a fwd/rev switch Part # 236400 i'm sure it's been superseded maybe #234-4031.

Did you try MinnKota. They built the thing.

Good luck, had a simular problem with an old Minn. Searched e-bay a few times, with no luck. If you go into the Minn Kota web page, they have a list of authorized repair centers. You might get lucky and find some old stock. I didn't, had to bypass the switch, but had forward only and had to turn motor around if I wanted to reverse. That got old real quick and got a new one. Took the old one to a local auction and got $35 buck for it. You could also try craigslist and maybe pickup a parts motor.

You should be able to use a generic switch. It should be a DPDT switch. Just make sure it will handle the current.
