Was hooking up the plug and got a spark. I have 36 volts coming to the plug but the trolling motor does not run. On manual or continuous. No humming or anything. Could I have blown a board in the motor or something.

You should have a breaker between plug and batteries.

Must have shorted the plug or receptacle. I replaced both as there was some burnt marks and everything works fine. Odd I was getting power to the foot control but still would not run but new plug and all is good. Was not looking forward to dropping 1500 on a new one.
