I have not worked on a ski with pods, but I would think it would be water in the gas maybe?

sounds like water mixed with gas.

so either you have water in your gas, or you have water entering the engine compartment and splashing up onto your carbs.

possible solutions:

check your fuel/water separator if you have one
use a set of "outerwears" on your K&N filters
look for leaks
make sure you have a coupler cover installed over the engine/pump coupler

First things first , get a glass jar and take a fuel sample , take the feed line off the carbs and pump some fuel into the jar . let it sit for 1/2 hr and look at it , water will be bubble looking at the bottom of the jar . Your filters would have to be so soaked with oil to make the "milk " I doubt it is it but never a bad idea to service them according to the manual . When you do look inside the filters , if you have water there you are picking up water in the air intake system . Start there and post results .

An easy way to see which parts are interchangable, look the part numbers up on the exploded view for each ski, if the numbers are the same then you can swap the parts, I believe you can for those skis, Polaris made a good change to the pump housings after the '92 or '93 year ski's.
