Hi,

I fired up my motor today, a 1989 Evinrude 88 SPL, every thing seemed to be ok, but I noticed a milky substance discharging from the prop area. It seems to be coming from where the exhaust comes from and also towards the boat side of the prop. I did notice that when using the 'ear-muffs" that water was also exiting from places I didn't remeber last season ( along what I would assume would be a gasket surface, at the last section of the lower unit).

I stopped the enginge and pulled the plugs, all seems OK upon inpection.
What is this? What do I need to repair if anything.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Milky discharge

saycoda,

Don't worry about water coming out that seam. There is no gasket there.

If your plugs look OK than it is probably safe to assume that you are not ingesting any water.

How does the lower unit lube look?
