Re: Militec-1 in outboard
I found this...

http://www.apdinc.com/marineap.htm

Sounds interesting, but one claim left me dumbfounded. I was left with the impression that this oil additive prevented a propshaft from bending after striking a rock. Maybe it was just the way the article was written, but I had a good laugh.

"Immediately, the motor was brought to our shop in Curitiba. Our mechanics, who already knew of the accident, could not believe what they saw when they opened the transmission. In lieu of finding broken parts due to salt water contamination and the the prolonged lack of lubricant, they found the bearings and the shaft intact, without the slightest visible damage. The gears were in perfect state, with no sign of wear. Equally, there was not the slightest bend on the shaft nor did the motor show signs of overwork, which would be likely with so many hours of operation after such an accident. All parts were reassembled and the hole in the transmission housing was fixed."

I dunno. Maybe it really is the best thing since sliced bread. As a general rule, I find that products that rely on testamonials to promote their product are never all they're cracked-up to be.
