Missing the starter and need to reassemble hand contol. goes into gears, couldnt turn buy hand but feels smooth and tight rocking flywheel. Guy was aking $60.00 (Its a barn find from his bro) but he will go $40 if he still has it monday. Mostly complete with the loose parts in a bucket minus starter.

Can any one tell me what starters would fit and any other tidbits of info I should have. Also thinking VRO pump retro. Ive worked on 1 VRO2 johnson and was impressed. Only point of concern would be not having the monitoring system.

Well, if it is infact a 35hp, then it's either a 57 - 59 model, or 1976 and later. They had the 33hp in 69, but not a 35. If you can, post a model number and someone will jump in and tell you exactly what year it is.

Cant tell u that, but I can tell you it has a cast top with two piece stamped aluminum siding for the hood that latches tight at the operator end. Single carb. labeled 35H and its completely black.
