Re: Lake Powell Houseboat Thread
I mentioned in that thread that I had the best boat piloting experience of my life in a little slot called Twilight Canyon. It probably wound back and forth for a good 5 miles or more . . . In the videos below one of the teenagers did a pretty decent job of capturing the experience. This is in my boat and you'll see and hear a couple of quick glimpses of a knucklehead with a big mouth in a Dodger hat . . . that's yours truly Watch out for the sound as the wind noise pics up in a couple of spots, although there is also the awesome sound of a V8 and thru transom exhaust . . .

Please note that the view you're seeing is from the narrow eye of a camera. I guarantee you that I didn't put my passengers at risk and that I was getting a much better view around the tight corners than it looks. It is also why I am swinging so wide before I enter any of the particularly blind ones. I am using my trim tabs very aggressively so I am able to stay on plane down to about 12 MPH, I probably barely hit 20 for a few short bursts. It was on average about 50 feet deep in there, 80 at the beginning and I chickened out when it got down to 10 . . . If it had started at 10 feet, I would've probably kept going until it got down to 5, but some things are relative . . .
I swore I'd do that every day for the rest of our trip, but I actually only went in and out the one time. I am itching to go back just for that particular piloting experience . . . it should be a flippin' video game
