Good luck. Let me see one of those James River Flat headed yellow cats. I havn't been all year - my brothers boat is being augmented,
and mine is still being restored - bummer.

Re: mid-seventies tomorrow.....I hear the river calling me.

Well yesterday didn't work out as planned, not only didn't I bring a catfish into the boat but my outboard starter locked up at the ramp so I called a friend that's working in TX that has his boat stored at my house (SeaArk Pro Cat 24 ft) and asked if I could use his boat. His reply "Don't make me hop on a plane, get a rent-a-car and drive over to your house to kick your A.. for even asking that question!!" I told him I just wanted to make sure it was alright. So I drove back home and unloaded my pontoon and hooked up his boat, loaded everything into it and headed back to the ramp again. I only had 1 good bite and that one ended up a miss due to the Gizzard Shad's head spinning around and sinking the point of the hook back into the head so it couldn't hook up with the catfish.
Oh well, got a new starter ordered for my outboard last night and it should be here Monday. Quick install and I'll be back in business with my own boat again.
I'm just glad to get out on the water, it's been almost 2 months.......it was killing me, catchin' fish is just a bonus, I can wait til next time for the bonus.

I'm glad you got out and payed some dues. I use those 8/0 wide gap circle hooks 3x strong - hook the head through the eyes, and don't
fret over the nibbles.
