Honda's are great motors look it over and make sure it looks good, I have found you can tell alot about the maintance the motor has had by how clean the inside and outside are. A person who takes good care of his equipment also makes sure it is clean and not all dinged up and scratched. Next a good compression test to get a idea how the condition of the inside, pull the dip stick and check the oil, if it is a little dark thats ok but if it is real dard (black) and full of sludge not good also if it looks like it was just changed they could be hiding somthing. Then pull the drain on the lower unit and let a small amount of lube out, it should also look pretty clean with no sign of heavy gritty metal flakes. If all checks out I would jump on this thing in a minute.
